It’s been a while since we’ve posted on Premier Progs, but rest assured we’ve been using our lockdown time wisely! With no football taking place, we’ve been thinking about what else we can do to make the site interesting.

We’ve therefore come up with a new category of ‘Merit Awards‘ that we will be issuing for the first time this month. On Premier Progs, we focus on programmes from the English top-flight, from both now and the past. Whilst this will remain our focus, we also want to showcase great examples of programmes from outside of the Premier League, and recognise those clubs that produce top-class issues that are not eligible for our annual awards. For example, we’ve had a look at the programmes produced by every club in the English and Scottish football leagues during the 2019/20 season, and we’ll be discussing these over the next month. We hope to make this a regular summer feature on Premier Progs, giving programme editors and creative teams all over the country some well-earned exposure!

Our first Merit Award will be issued tomorrow – Thursday 4th June – and will focus on a series of superb programmes produced by one of the English clubs competing in European competition this season. Watch this space for more Merit Awards over the next month!
