Below are the programme covers for last weekend’s Premier League fixtures, running from Saturday 7th to Monday 9th December.
Everton’s cover for their home game against Chelsea marked the appointment of club legend Duncan Ferguson as manager, while the programme for the Manchester derby used an image of City’s cult hero Shaun Goater. This was in reference to the striker’s performance against United in the 2002/03 season, when he scored two goals to help City to a 3-1 win.
Several of the issues from the weekend made reference to the Rainbow Laces campaign, with Tottenham Hotspur, Watford, Aston Villa, and Brighton & Hove Albion all showing their support. The team at Aston Villa in particular continue to produce some eye-catching artwork for their programme covers. The Norwich City issue for their fixture against Sheffield United was similarly impressive, with Canaries’ captain Christoph Zimmermann shown in the club’s home kit from the late 1970s.
