The Premier League returned last weekend following the latest international break. The programme covers from each top-flight match are shown below.
Highlights this weekend included the Everton issue, the cover of which featured the legendary figure of Harry Catterick who both played for and managed the Toffees. Catterick made 71 league and cup appearances for Everton, during a career interrupted by the Second World War. He then managed the club from 1961 to 1973 and won two league titles and an FA Cup. The Everton website has an interesting feature on Catterick here. The Manchester City programme for their game against Chelsea also had a retro style cover, in keeping with the club’s 125th anniversary celebrations this year, with the cover displaying a picture of a packed terrace at the club’s former Maine Road ground.
